WELCOME

I give keynote lectures for organizations, leadership programs, conferences, professional development days and the cultural sector – wherever people want professionally strong, human and engaging experiences.

I am an orchestra and opera conductor, speaker and Gestalt Psychotherapist. For over twenty years I have worked at the intersection of art and psychology — a place where people's stories, emotions and experiences are given room to breathe.

Through my lectures I want to create encounters that provide insight, recognition and new ways of understanding ourselves and each other. I combine professional weight with a warm and personal presentation, and always adapt the content to the audience.

What Conductors Know About Leadership – That Leaders Should Know Too

In this keynote, Vegard Nilsen opens the door to the world of the orchestra and reveals how the conductor’s craft offers profound insights into modern leadership. This is not about authority in the traditional sense, but about presence, listening, and the ability to create direction without domination. Participants gain a rare perspective on how people truly function together when the pressure is high and excellence is non‑negotiable. Leadership looks different when nothing can be hidden.

Participants will learn

  • the difference between authority and authoritarianism

  • how to lead strong professionals without suppressing initiative

  • how to build trust in teams that must perform

  • how to read a room and adjust in real time

  • why mistakes are essential for quality and growth

Gestalt in Everyday Life

A Practical Introduction to Understanding Yourself and Others

This is a talk that resonates widely and creates immediate recognition.

  • how we repeat patterns without noticing

  • how boundaries create safety rather than distance

  • how to take responsibility without taking over

  • concrete tools for better communication and relationships
